Our Life Preserver

"Come and see what God has done,
how awesome His works in man's behalf!

He turned the sea into dry land,
they passed through the waters on foot—
come, let us rejoice in Him.

He rules forever by His power,
His eyes watch the nations—
let not the rebellious rise up against him.

Praise our God, O peoples,
let the sound of His praise be heard;
He has preserved our lives
and kept our feet from slipping.

For you, O God, tested us;
You refined us like silver.
You brought us into prison
and laid burdens on our backs.

You let men ride over our heads;
we went through fire and water,
but You brought us to a place of abundance."
~Psalm 66:5-12

Praise be to our Life Preserver, who longs to bring us life abundantly!

He didn't save us out of the waters and the fire to merely pass time between cradle and grave.  He saved us to pass on life -- to be satisfied, soul-breathing, purpose-driven, praise-bearing, life-giving preservers of His existence.

Be Christ.  Be life-givers.  Be.

What a wonderful passage and picture to pair together! Your words are a great reminder. May we all pass on life today at every opportunity He gives us.

I loved this! What you wrote beautifully summed up the Psalm...

I love that photo too!! Did you take it? Very clever...

I needed this reminder today, that He is our life-preserver. He gives LIFE and life more abundantly. When the storms hit, He is the only life-guard we need to hold onto...

Christ is the only place of abundance. All others are cheap substitutes. Nice post.

These SHOULD be the words to a song...

"to be satisfied, soul-breathing, purpose-driven, praise-bearing, life-giving preservers of His existence..."
I LOVE this!! It's perfectly fitting!

Our life preserver....
How awesome that it was given to us such that we can be preservers in His image to those we meet! Love IT!
