Honoring Sacrifice

Christ sacrificed all to save us.  He battled death and won, and through His victory, He provides freedom.

I honor Him today by honoring others who have battled for freedom and lost their lives or a part of themselves in the process.  For those who have sacrificed time, comfort, safety, family, friends, peace of mind and countless other things for my freedom -- Thank you.

Fading light dims the sight
And a star gems the sky, gleaming bright
From afar drawing nigh,
Falls the night.

Day is done, gone the sun
From the lakes, from the hills, from the skies
All is well, safely rest;
God is nigh.

Then goodnight, peaceful night;
Till the light of the dawn shineth bright.
God is near, do not fear,
Friend, goodnight

Beautiful! I think the father at Mass yesterday put it wonderfully when he said; let us remember and honor those who have shed their blood for the very reason that we may gather here together...

Hi. Linked here from Growing in Godliness and have read a couple of your posts and scanned the others. You write very well and do some real good applications of Bible stories/ideas to today.

This post was touching, too. With the war going on it is esp appropriate to think of those who have fought for our freedom. Thanks.
