Women bring beauty into this world . . . beauty that inspires and invites. True beauty that has nothing to do with society's definition of outward beauty and everything to do with the beauty that God bestows. In honor of Mother's Day, I want to take time to celebrate that, so I'm testifying to the beauty I've encountered lately.
my sister's voice
contagious joy
Elizabeth Barrett Browning's poetry
tender love
unashamed worship
my daughter's eyes
chubby hands holding dandelions
my best friend loving her boys
a first grader's gap-toothed smile framed by pigtails
freckles
snowy white hair
laugh lines
baby belly buttons!
It's Friendly Friday. I ask; you answer.
What beauty have you encountered lately?
Inspire us. . . and Happy Mother's Day to you.

this post!
my husband's embrace
my younger daughters' unbridled excitement over the daddy/daughter dance tonight
my eldest's nervous excitement about learning to drive
the confidence my 12 yo carries herself with - she wore plaid converse sneakers with her semi formal dress!
my sister's generosity when loving my children -a s if they were her own
the quiet before dawn when God embraces my family before the hustle and bustle takes us separate ways
morning dew
orangy-pink sunsets
holding hands
baby feet
wiping away your childrens' tears and replacing them with a smile!!
Have a beautiful weekend!!!!
The amazing colors in fabric ...
How God always provides...
How my littlest can make anything fun...
And how my oldest is so sweet...
*** Have a great Mother's Day, my friend! Much love to you!

a warm cup of coffee while talking with mom

I first read this post earlier this morning, but did not have time to respond. I would have written at that time, that "beauty" was my children faces when I have surprised them, the genuine "thanks you's" I would have heard coming from them, and my husbands "I Love You" every morning and night!
But I have to tell you that I am so glad I didn't have a chance to answer then. I have spent the majority of the day reflecting on these words...and wow...beauty is everywhere! Thanks! Have a wonderful Mother's Day!
I'm actually sitting on the front porch right now enjoying the birds singing and the gentle breeze! I'm so thankful for the beauty God brings into our lives!!
A wonderful post... you're a true poet! (A woman after Elizabeth Barret Browning's heart.)
Women really do bring beauty to life. Aren't we blessed to be women? (Love that belly button!)
Monica, that blessed me. Thanks for coming back and sharing that!
Awww, e-Mom, you're so sweet! And Rachel, I'm looking forward to getting my laptop so I can do what you're doing. That's a beautiful thing! ;)
I know our blogs are a bit different (ha), but I LOVE YOURS! I am only 23 and way too young to be a mama, but it is my greatest hope down the road. I can't wait to have a tribe of little ones. Keep up the good work!!!
OH I just love baby belly buttons too. And I like to poke them.
What beauty have I encountered today? The shining sun and my peacefully sleeping baby.
Stopping by from SITS! Love this post.
Great spot about these beautiful things...
What an awesome post, there is beauty everywhere, currently I am enjoying: the view out my office window, the honeysuckle is blooming. The 'just right' photo of my kid, when he's not looking! The warm fuzzy feeling I get when my sweet pommie settles in my lap and sighs with contentment... and so much more! Happy Saturday SITS Sharefest!
OMGosh, how did I miss this AWESOME post?!!? Love it!!!!! LOVE baby bellybuttons!!! What beauty have I encountered?! A bride and the way her groom watches her walk down the aisle...my friend dressed in red, looking oh, so beautiful, watching her husband give his victory speech as he won the city council election this weekend...my extended family gathering for the first time in a long time for a birthday celebration and the forgiveness therein...a mother dove as she hobbles along, faking a limp, hoping to distract my daughter, as my daughter leans in a bit too close for comfort to see her baby birds...oh, the beauty of creation all around us, now that's a masterpiece! Love, love, love this post!!!
all of the pictures are SO sweet. That baby belly button though...oh. my. goodness. Pure deliciousness : )
I love this little post! We as women and mothers get to be a part of so many lovely things.
