"Hi," says the small voice to her big brothers. They smile-hi back.
In the kitchen, I prepare her breakfast. Cheerios and yogurt in her princess bowl. Drink is poured. Tray prepared. I walk to the family room to bring her to morning meal. She's on the couch, curled close to a hero, munching from his bowl of cereal while Martha Speaks.
I know I am blessed. My cup simply overflows with it.
And that's when I realize it's time to take the plunge and count One Thousand:
My beginning #1-32:
"Hi" in that new voice
Thump, Thump of her run-walk
Brothers who adore
Sweet cheerio breath
Chubby hands picking strawberries from our very own patch
Strawberry smiles
Prayers for the hurting
Tiny toads
A picnic site
A dad who created it
Rope swings
Cool creeks
Boy glee
S'mores
New family
Sunshine after many clouds
A book held high as she runs to me to read
Kids in pajamas
God's persistent love
Annual day trip with my best friend
A big brother's excitement over her accomplishments
The Thinker's thoughtfulness
A cousin's infatuation with Baby Girl
An ink pen in my purse to jot down more thoughts on-the-go
An interesting (even to me!) conversation about soccer with The Thinker
Realizing he's a neat kid
A drop-in visit by my sis
The Belly Button Book
Singing in the car with all three of my sugars
Being in the right place at the right time to help a stranger
Freedom
A fun evening with the in-laws

Beautiful! Isn't this the greatest of habits?
I give thanks with you today!
All's grace,
Ann
I love this...a great picture of real life. Someone once told me that the most important thing is to have a smile on your face when your little ones first get up. So they know they are a blessing! I can see you smiling!
Blessings,
Stacey

Delightful! I too just jumped into the gratitude community, beginning to day. Sweetly blessed, indeed.
A joy to meet you,

You know, I really didn't feel like writing a post today...but since I started these Monday gratitudes, I have decided I will not miss a Monday until I get to 1000, as long as I have a computer in front of me. Mondays are good :)... There are so many things to be thankful for in each of our own little worlds.
Ann left you a comment! Put that one on next weeks - How wonderful! I can't stop smiling!

don't be suprised when it gets a bit difficult. Don't be suprised when it's overwhelming. Don't be suprised when you just can't stop counting :)

I think I could have written almost all of your gratitude list! My kids love Martha Speaks and The Belly Button Book. I'm so grateful as well for the time in my life when the kids are little and you're diapering one and recognizing the beauty of sweet and simple mornings with the others.
Thanks for sharing.
Heather
There's much to be thankful for if we only take the time to look around us. I have something special for you over at my place.

Gratitude in the large and small things is beautiful. You sound blessed and I feel blessed for reading about it. I love the thought of little hands picking berries!
